Napoleon Bonamite sketch from Adult Swim's Robot Chicken |
Robot Chicken is a hysterical variety show that is done completely using stop-motion animation. Robot Chicken is created by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich and features tons of celebrity voice appearances. The show recreates entire show sets and parody's all sorts of different things, nothing is off limits. Robot Chicken could be described as Saturday Night Live of stop-motion. In this episode Super Mario Cart, Knight Rider, Dukes Of Hazard, Speed Racer, CHIPS, Batman, That 70s Show and other shows that I'm leaving out are all mashed together into a hilarious film. Seriously, I haven't laughed so hard in a while! |
Here's a great stop motion thats over 50 years old. I can only imagine how tedious it was to create using the primitive filming technology. I found this via boingboing and the reader that submitted thought that this was the inspiration for the popular Tony vs Paul video. He's probably right about that. Here is the info from Google video: "One of the many short films put out by the National Film Board of Canada. This one was headed by Norman McLaren, in 1952. Watch, and observe the era when creativity and originality was still to be found in relative abundance." |
